RHS Healer’s Hollow
Hampton Court 2025

At the beginning of the year the girls from Inspired Earth Design, Emily and Jude, got in touch with me to ask whether I would be interested in collaborating with them on a super exciting project they were embarking on with the RHS. They were creating a feature Garden for RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival 2025. The brief was ‘awe and wonder’ and their garden ‘Healer’s Hollow’ certainly fulfilled the brief. The garden was an enchanting exploration of the history of our human connection to plants and the benefits they bring to our health and wellbeing. My role in the creation of Healer’s Hollow was to come up with a series of signs to be placed within the medicinal plant borders of the garden, alongside a range of soft furnishings to style the interior of a bespoke Shepherd’s Hut, built by Hannam & Taylor. The hut was to be situated within the secluded wooded glade of the garden, as a sanctuary for our resident healing woman, also known as Gaia! I created four hand drawn watercolour signs depicting an array of medicinal plants found within the planting of the garden. Within the Shepherd’s Hut I designed and made two sets of bespoke curtains and some decorative cushions alongside styling the interior space with all sorts of props to create the ideal healing sanctuary.
